Student Academic Success Center

Bowie's Student Academic Success Center offers tutoring to students in all grades at the following times and locations:

English, Math, Science and Spanish
Monday - Friday Morning ………..7:30 - 8:30 in the cafeteria

English, Math, Science, Social Studies
Monday - Thursday Afternoon …..4:30 - 5:30 in the cafeteria

the Dawg Den

Tutoring for 9th graders

The Dawg Den, Bowie's 9th Grade Tutoring Center, is a place for 9th graders to study.

The Den provides…

  • help in the 4-core subjects
  • a place to complete make-up work
  • computers to type-up a paper or work-on research
  • a quiet place to work

When?

  • Before School 8:15-8:50.
  • Both Lunches.
  • After School 4:15-4:45.

Where?

   At the back of the library, in the former Viewing Room.

Guidelines…
    1.) Sign-In & Out
    2.) All students must be working at ALL times.
    3.) Bring Go Planner for Den tutor to stamp.
    4.) You may eat your lunch in the Den.
    5.) No electronic devices allowed.

IWS (I WILL SUCCEED) Program

IWS is a tutorial session that is scheduled daily (M-F) for the first 25 minutes of each lunch period.  9th grade students who failed a core subject (Algebra I, Biology, English I, or World Geography) are required to attend.

When Progress Reports are issued, if a students is passing the IWS class he/she will be dismissed from IWS. Otherwise, students will attend IWS for the entire 6 weeks period.

IWS is an additional program developed for the purpose of helping our students share in a successful high school experience.  Parents, thank you for your support!
