Class of 2011 booster club

A Booster Club for the James Bowie High School Class of 2011 has been established. The booster club will consist of parents who have a son/daughter graduating in 2011. The purpose of the club is to raise funds for (JBHS) Project Graduation, an all-night, chaperoned, substance-free celebration for the graduating seniors of JBHS.  Organization of this event takes MANY volunteers and we need your help. You can start by joining our yahoo group by subscribing to JBHS-Classof2011-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.  If you have any questions, contact Trish Lopez Broz, 301-1641 home, 731-3989 cell.

Project Graduation Party

Membership-Liability-Permission Forms need to be completed and signed by both the student and a parent before a student can get on the AISD bus the night of Project Graduation. PLEASE make sure to get this taken care of so not to delay the processing time during check in.    All forms and membership lists can be found at http://www.jbhs2011.org/

Project Graduation Volunteers.  It will take a lot of parent power to complete the festivities of Project Graduation and we truly need all hands on deck. Please take a look at what time slot will work for you to be a part of this great event on June 2nd/3rd.   www.mysignup.com/jbhs_project_graduation_2011.   Please take a look at where you can help we will need close to 50 more volunteers.

Senior Slideshow:  We are currently working on putting together the senior slide show to be revealed at Dave & Buster’s throughout the evening.  Please send in your photos over the last four years of your senior and their senior peers.  I have seen many out there so please encourage your student to pick out 12-15 favorites and send them in via email to  jbhs2011slideshow@gmail.com.    Photos can also be placed on a CD or USB and left in my box - 2011 Boosters - at the front office.  Please make sure to label the CD/USB 2011 slideshow.

Membership

Our membership count is now up to 185 but that is still well below what we expected and we are still short of meeting the estimated cost of $30,000+.  Membership entitles your student to participate in the Grand Celebration at Dave & Buster’s on June 2, 2011.  It will be a party to remember and you will know that your child is tucked safely away enjoying the last big hurrah with their friends.   Beginning with the first of the year Membership (aka Ticket) for Project Graduation will increase in price.  The longer you wait the more you can plan on spending.

An updated list of membership is on the class website at www.jbhs2011.org

For clarification there are two 2011 organizations- one organized by the students which is known as Class of 2011 and they support fundraising for their senior prom. 2011 Booster Club is organized by the parents and supports fundraising for Project Graduation which is an after party on generally on graduation night (in the wee hours) that is a drug and alcohol free event where the students can enjoy one last hurrah with their classmates in a safe environment.  Both organizations can only be successful through contributions and support by both the parents and the students.

2011 Booster Club membership dues are still being taken. With 75% membership we would have more than enough funds to support an extraordinary night to remember, and we would not have to do any future fundraising.  If you have not yet joined please consider doing so now – your membership covers the fee for admittance to party on graduation night. Please visit the Class of 2011 website to print out a membership form.
