The Bowie High School PTSA is composed of parents, educators, students, and business partners who support the PTSA through dues, donations and their time. By joining the Bowie PTSA, you also become a member of the Texas PTA and the National PTA, the largest child advocacy group in the nation. This group supports programs and legislation that benefit our children.  Read more about joining the PTA on the Texas PTA website or on the National PTA website.

However, we don't just want your dues. We want and welcome your participation! An organization is only as strong and as active as its members, and the Bowie PTSA needs YOU!

You can join us by filling out our PTSA Membership Form. If you would like to volunteer, please print out our Volunteer Form. The forms can be viewed/downloaded using Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you don't have Adobe Acrobat, you can download it for free.

why should I join the ptsa?

The PTSA benefits each of its members in many different ways.  Some of  these benefits are listed on the Texas PTA website. For Bowie seniors to be eligible for a PTSA scholarship, they or their parents must belong to the Bowie PTSA.

PTSA Discounts

Your PTSA membership is also your link to some great discounts!

To access the discount page on the Texas PTA website:
1) Click on "for parents" at the top of the page.
2) Log in using the user name and password on the back of your card. Your membership card will be sent to the e-mail address indicated on the 2011-12 PTSA Membership Form.
3) Click on "Benefits and Discounts."

Each participating company has slightly different ways of accessing the PTA member benefits, but none of them work by showing your card.

How much does it cost to Join the PTSA?

$15.50 per year for a parent, grandparent or friend. $10.50 per year for a Bowie faculty or staff member or student.

Will I have to go to PTSA Meetings?

No. However, anyone who is interested is very welcome to attend our meetings, held on the second Tuesday of each month during the school year at 6:30 pm in the AV room. See the calendar for dates.

Academic Excellence Fund

It's tax-deductible!

The Bowie PTSA's Academic Excellence Fund is used to provide scholarships to graduating students of Bowie High School.  It is through the tax-deductible contributions of our PTSA members that we are able to provide recognition of academic excellence to our graduating seniors each year.

Those interested in contributing to the Academic Excellence Fund can become a

  • Bronze Donor for a $50 donation
  • Silver Donor for a $75 donation
  • Gold Donor for a $100 donation

Look on the PTSA membership form for the Academic Excellence Donation.  You may add your donation to your PTSA membership fees by checking the appropriate box or filling in the donation amount of your choice.
