Runners Take Your Mark…

A Girls Track record was broken at the Regional Track Meet at Baylor. Marissa Flournoy – broke our school record in the 3200m (2 mile) run that was set back in 1994! She had a time of 11:20 and placed 8th in our very competitive region. Carolyn Evans placed 5th in the 1600m (1 mile) run with a time of 5:10 and Carly Ott placed 4th in the High Jump with a jump of 5’4”, which ties our school record.

Reflections Arts Projects Advance to State…

Seniors Angela Kang and Jesse Yakerson Reflections entries advanced to State. Angela's entry was in the Literature category titled "The Light Beyond the Box." Jesse's entry was in the Visual Arts category titled "Endless Soaring." Reflections is a National PTSA program that recognizes student’s art abilities in 6 different categories. Entries had to reflect this year's theme "Let Your Imagination Fly." For more info on our Reflections Entries – click HERE

Girls Track Places 3rd at Area Track Meet…

Congratulations to the following girls who placed between 1st and 4th place at the Area Track meet and will be advancing to the Regional Track Meet at Baylor University. They also placed 3rd overall as a team out of the 17 teams competing.

  • 1st Place: Carly Ott – High Jump;

  • 2nd Place: Keara McGraw - Pole Vault;

  • 3rd Place: Avery Ellis-Byerly - Shot, Aleka Neptune - Discus, Sabrina Bianco – High Jump, Carolyn Evans - 1600m Run. 800m Relay - Elise Foradory, Nya Martin, Amarissa Reyes, Helen McCain - alt. Morgan Johnson, Haley Farr and Deja Hubbard 1600m Relay - Elise Foradory, Reilly Campbell, Amarissa Reyes, Helen McCain - alt. Jessica Rodriguez-Nino, Katelyn Dill and Claire Meyer 

  • 4th place: Marissa Flournoy - 4th place/3200m run

  • 5th place: Keara McGraw - 100m Hurdles. Carolyn Evans - 3200m run and 6th place/1600m run

 

UIL Literary Criticism Team are the Regional Champs…

The Bowie UIL Literary Criticism Team placed first in the region. The team is Laura Tarrant, Marina Paulson and Raphael Jacquette. These students are remarkable and a reflection of the hard work of the ELA department.

  • Laura placed first overall in the region and Marina placed third overall.

  • The whole team is moving on to the state competition in May.

  • A big thanks goes to our English teachers: Pat Conroy, Vicki Hebert, Amanda & Judd Pfeiffer, Matt Flickinger, Emily Davis & Whitney Shumate for instilling a love of reading and deep analysis in these students.

Art Students Attend State Vase…

Congratulations to the following Art students who attended State Vase over the weekend.

Bowie Takes Two Top Sports at UIL…

Bowie takes two top spots at UIL Regional Meet in Prose Interpretation and will advance to state competition. The Bowie High School UIL Academic Team had its best showing at the Regional Meet at Baylor University. Our two students competing in Prose Interpretation both advanced to the UIL State Meet.

  • Regional Champion- Jake Anderson and

  • 2nd place- Miguel Lozano.

Bowie Softball are District Champs…

Your 2015-2016 Lady Dawgs Softball team went 13-3 in district play this year and are District Champions! Their first playoff game will be against Rouse HS.

 

Bowie is Ranked Nationally…

Entomology Team Going to State…

Congratulations Bowie-Austin FFA’s entomology team placed 1st in the Lonestar District, 4th in Area VII, and qualified for state! Congratulations to Gunnar Hooks, Emily Leeke, Samantha Robarts, and Thomas Sanders!

Bowie Marksmanship Teams Hit the Mark…

In addition to the #2 Team ranking at the Junior Olympic State Championship, Ray Sierras and Hope

Ritchie finished #2 and #4 in the Individual Sporter Category and qualify for the Junior Olympic National Championships to be held at Port Clinton, Ohio in June. Way to go al 3 Bowie Marksmanship Teams.
Women’ Lacrosse Team to State Championship…

Congratulations The Bowie Women's Lacrosse team beat McNeil high school in the semi-final district playoff game and advances to the finals. That win qualifies them to play in the State Championship for the second year in a row! Come cheer on the team at the final playoff game against Westwood High School on Monday April 25 at 6:00 pm at Cedar Park High School.

National and State Newspaper Awards Announced…

The Lone Star Dispatch student newspaper finished 4th place in best in show at the national JEA/NSPA conference in Los Angeles- this is the best we have done in a national best in show competition. In the UIL/ILPC state level competition, our paper grabbed the 2nd straight ranking star with a Bronze Star, placing us in the top 15-20 papers in the state overall and makes our newspaper one of the top 10 public school newspapers in the state! Our staff grabbed 22 individual medals, including:

  • 1st place: Senior Granger Coats – Photo Story; Senior Isabel Rosales – Sports Page Design

  • 2nd place: Soph. Violet Glenewinkel – Entertainment Photo

Bowie Musical Tarzan Wins Big Again…

Congrats The Bowie HS Fine Arts Department musical Tarzan took home big awards at the Greater Austin High School Musical Theatre Awards. Bowie came home with three of the top awards, including:

  • Best Orchestra (third year in a row; no other school has won this award yet)- directed/conducted by Matt Atkinson;

  • Best Music Direction (second year in a row)- directed by Randy Cantu and Cate Gasco;

  • Best Actress in a supporting role- Chloe Byars (Kala)

  • Over 70 of our students got to perform on the Long Center stage again, making our school one of only two that have had that honor of being nominated for Best Production every year since the awards started three years ago.

Varsity Tennis is Bowie Proud…

The doubles team of Mariya Shkolnaya/Jolie Francis advanced to the State Tournament after a two day battle through the toughest Tennis Region in the state. The pair defeated Irving, Westwood, The Woodlands, and finally Westlake to advance. They represented Bowie extremely well both on and off the courts.

JBHS Choirs Earn Top Marks at UIL…

The Bowie Choirs participated in the Region 18 Concert and Sightreading Contest and took four choirs to compete. All four groups came home with Sweepstakes awards! These trophies are awarded to groups who earn superior ratings in both stage performance and sight-singing. While we have earned sweepstakes awards every year for the past 3 years with all these choirs, never before in the history of Bowie have we earned a "straight" sweepstakes with every choir (meaning superior ratings from every single judge in both concert and sightreading). 

Lone Star Yearbook takes Top State Awards…

The Lone Star yearbook captured another Silver Star award from the Interscholastic League Press Conference for the 2014-2015 yearbook.

Senior business editor Maddi Felux received the Tops in Texas award. 24 individual achievement awards were given to the following yearbook staff members.

Back to Back District Champions…

Congratulations to our Girls Varsity Track Team for their back to back District Championship- First time in school history! It was also a fantastic year with the Bowie Varsity Boys winning the District Crown, too. A special shout out to Heather Cuthbertson-McFarland, Matt Flickinger and Phil Perry for the outstanding work they do with our girls and guys.

UIL State Wrestling Tournament…

Two of our wrestlers medaled at the UIL State Wrestling Tournament:

  • Christian Moreno (113 lbs) and Riley Gatley (128 lbs) for the 4th place finishes at State.

JBHS World Winter Guard Makes History…

The 2016 Winter Guard places 5th at the Winter Guard International Championships. This is a 1st for the school, district, and the state of Texas to have a scholastic world team be ranked in the Top 5! We are the first Texas Scholastic World team to be placed in the Top 3.The students also received a 99 in GE and tied for 1st in the 2016 World Class Champion. Scholastic World Team Strives to Be Undefeated…

We have the 1st Scholastic World Team in WGI History to place in the TOP 3/5 our first year in Scholastic World Class. This is also the 2nd undefeated season for this team and its 4th State Championship WIN that includes winning all competitive classes from Scholastic A, Scholastic Open, and Scholastic World.

 

Univision Student of the Month Yesenia Fuentes…

Congrats to Yesenia Fuentes for being named the Univision Student of the Month. It was a fun day when the channel showed up to Bowie with the award. You can see the news segment: Click HERE.

Varsity Track Wins District...

Boys Varsity team won the district track meet. We beat a Lake Travis team that had won every meet they had been to this year, except the one that counted! All levels did really well. JV finished 2nd place and freshmen finished 1st in dominating fashion.

 

State Championship for Color Guard…

JBHS Scholastic World Team won their 2016 Texas Color Guard Circuit State Championship. This is the team’s 4th straight state championship title in a row.

1st Place for UIL Accounting Team…

UIL Accounting Team won 1st place at the District. They will advance to compete at Regionals next month.

  • 1st -Rafay Kurram, 2nd- Joshua Lucas, 3rd- Brice Lacey.

 

Top Spot for UIL One-Act Play…

The UIL One-Act Play Contest won Bi-District, taking the top spot for the third contest in a row this season! The company moves on to Area Contest in College Station. Individual awards included:

  • Best Actress- Chloe Byars; All Star Cast- Miguel Lozano; Honorable Mention- Zane Stults; Outstanding Technician/Honor Crew- Olivia Roberts.

Our Bowie Literary Criticism Team placed 1st at the district meet and is heading to regionals.

  • The team is seniors Laura Tarrant, Raphael Jacquette & Marina Paulson. Laura Tarrant took 1st place overall at district.

 

Bowie Chamber Choir featured in Austin Way!

Select members of the Chamber Choir were invited to perform at the Texas Independence Day Gala at the Bob Bullock Museum. Austin Way magazine online featured a great picture in their coverage, which you can find HERE..

Good Things Happening At Bowie…

Thanks to the last bond passing, our school received 1,100 Chrome Books for student use. New furniture that was needed will be going into the classrooms and The Field of Dreams across the street from the school is scheduled to break ground in April.

 

Varsity Tennis Finishes Strong…

The Varsity Tennis Team closed out the Tournament season strong in a 16 team field

  • Line 1 : Singles winner - Jackson Cobb; Line 1 Mixed Doubles Winners - Jamie Dammann/Gilby Camacho; Girls Doubles Winners - Mariya Shkolnaya/Jolie Franciis; Boys Doubles 3rd place Riley O'Connor/ Stephen Do; Girls singles 3rd place- Ksenia Vlassova;

One-Act Play wins District & Advances to Bi-District…

The Bowie High School One-Act Play won the district title placing first for the second time in a row.

  • The production Six Degrees of Separation moved on to bi-district contest at Hendrickson HS. Individual awards at District include:

UIL Academic Competitors Take Top Awards at Best of Texas…

The UIL Academic Team competed in Best of Texas, an online statewide contest for UIL academic events.

  • State Champion- 1st place in Literary Criticism- Laura Tarrant (coached by Bree Rolfe);

  • 9th place in Biology- Shravani Deo (coached by Hope Lozano and Kendall Hollick);

  • 9th place tie in Current Issues and Events- Caleb Newton and Jackson Coats (coached by Brian Alford)

 

Softball is in Full Swing for the Season…

Bowie Girls Softball is undefeated in District play after completing their first round of games!

Biking Bulldogs…

The Bowie Mountain Bike Team won First Place Overall at the Reveille Peak Roundup. We are three races in to the five race season and the competition is fierce!

 

Best of Texas Statewide Current Events…

The following students placed statewide in the Best of Texas Current Issues & Events Contest:

  • 2nd Place Statewide 9th Grade - Jack Maedgen;

  • 3rd Place Statewide 9th Grade - Maggie Bisone;

  • 3rd Place Statewide 10th Grade - Zach Houdek

UIL One Act Play Advances to District…

The UIL One-Act Play Six Degrees of Separation took home top honors at Zone Contest, winning first place, taking 5 of 18 acting awards and advanced to district. Individual acting awards included:

  • Best Actor- Jackson Walker;

  • All Star Cast- Chloe Byars and Zane Stults;

  • Honorable Mention- Miguel Lozano and Jamie Godwin;

  • Outstanding Technician- Kamryn Bryce

And…Action!...

The 2016 Fine Arts Department Musical "Tarzan" took home 11 nominations for the Greater Austin High School Musical Theatre Awards with over 30 schools eligible. The award ceremony will be at the Long Center Wednesday, April 13th. The Fine Arts musical was nominated for the following: Best Production * Best Direction * Best Orchestra (direction by Matt Atkinson) * Best Choreography * Best Music Direction (direction by Randy Cantu and Cate Gasco) * Best Ensemble * Best Technical Execution * Best Lighting Design * Best Leader Actor: Austin Hyde (Tarzan) * Best Supporting Actor: Noah Steele (Kerchak) * Best Supporting Actress: Chloe Byars (Kala)

 

Bowie Sweeps Citizen Bee Competition…

Bowie students did a fine job of representing us at the Region 13 Citizen Bee, winning all three top spots. Emily Kuster -- 1st place, Advancing to State; Allison Ambler -- 2nd place; William Hockaday -- 3rd place.

Our students placed with a wide range of science fair topics this year.

  • 2nd Place: Clara Martin, Biochemistry; Sofia Hutton, Chemistry.

  • 3rd Place: John Shpherd, Computer Science Systems; Rebecca Proffitt, Engineering Mechanics; Avery Helder, Materials Science.

  • Special Awards: Katie Stephenson, Megan Oldham, Aurora Rochin, Sophia Hutton, and Eliza Kuster.

 

UIL Academic Team in Best of Texas Online Tournament…

The UIL Academic team and their coaches placed in the Best of Texas Online Tournament. Competing against students from across the state, the following Bowie students placed in the top ten:

  • Literary Criticism- coached by Bree Rolfe- 3rd place Laura Tarrant, 9th place Raphael Jaquette;

  • Chemistry- coached by Hope Lozano and Kendall Hollick-4th place Olivia Roberts, 6th place Amy Cox, 8th place Angela Kang;

  • Current Issues and Events- coached by Brian Alford- 9th place Hasan Beg

Exceptional Cadets at JROTC Service Championships…

The JROTC Varsity and JV Marksmanship Teams competed at the 2016 JROTC Service Championships in Anniston AL. The Varsity finished 10th and qualified for a spot at Nationals.

  • Our top shooter, Hope Ritchie, qualified for the individual finals against 7 other top shooters. After the 10-shot final she finished 2nd overall in the Air Force JROTC...and was so close to 1st place.

  • Varsity: Hope Ritchie, Sara Raye, Cassidy Lindauer, Ray Sierras. Junior Varsity: Kallysta Wheeler, Bianca Gonzalez, Caleb Hawkins, Stevie Freteluco.

 

Sophomore Swims at Meet…

Bowie sophomore, Diana Dunn, had a great performance at the state swim meet and placed 2nd in both of her events. 

 

Wrestlers Medaled…

Two of our wrestlers medaled at the UIL State Wrestling Tournament- congratulations to Christian Moreno and Riley Gatley for the 4th place finishes at State! 

Silver Stars Finish Out the Season…

The Silver Stars came together as a team and had the most beautiful performances at the McNeil Contest. They finished out their competitive season with the best performance to date. Many awards were bestowed on this great group of dancers.

Swim & Dive Team Regionals…

The team competed for prelims and for finals against 24 teams.

  • Nathan Cootes placed 5th in diving; Frisco Koelling placed 7th in the mens 50yd freestyle and 9th in the mens 100yd freestyle; Zac Mickelson placed 6th in the mens 200yd individual medley and 12th in the mens 100yd backstroke;

  • The girls 400yd relay - Kaitlyn McDaniel, Diana Dunn, Ariana Eads and Megan Weiss - placed 13th;

  • The boys 400yd relay - Frisco Koelling, Jake Mickelson, Nico Tornoe and Zac Mickelson - placed 10

  • Diana Dunn will be competing at STATE in the girls individual medley and girls 100yd freestyle. Bowie has not sent anyone to state for                                  swimming in several years so we wish Diana luck! Thank you to all of our swimmers on the team.

Lady Dawgs Basketball District Champions…

The Varsity Lady Dawg Basketball team won their 4th straight district championship! The bi-district round of playoffs has been set. Bowie will play Cedar Ridge Tuesday, February 16 @ Cedar Creek HS (Bastrop) @ 7:00 pm. Come out and cheer this team to victory! Loser goes home and is done. Winner advances to the next round. Also, congratulations are in order to Coach Perry and the Freshman Lady Dawgs.

Wrestling Begins With a Bang…

The Our wrestling teams competed in the District 14-6A Wrestling Championship at the Delco Center with great success. Wrestling began with all 4 teams competing throughout the day. Our JV Boys won their 2nd consecutive district title. Our JV Girls won their first ever District Championship title and the entire girls team has qualified for the Regional Wrestling Tournament in San Antonio! The Lone Star Yearbook Makes History…

For the first time ever, the Bowie HS Lone Star yearbook has been nominated for the prestigious NSPA Pacemaker Award. The 2014-2015 Lone Star was one of 19 yearbooks in the country that received a nomination for the Pacemaker in the "337 pages and up" category. Our category represents the BIG books from the BIG schools. The NSPA Pacemaker winners will be announced at the NSPA Spring Scholastic Journalism Convention in Los Angeles in April. The 2014-15 Lone Star yearbook editors (see Blast attachment) have given so much of themselves to create a book that captures the pulse of the community and the current happenings that impact our school:

The Bowie High School Silver Stars competed at Eastview High School, with 12 solos, 3 Officer Ensembles, 3 Large Ensembles, and 3 Team Pieces. The Silver Stars were selected by the judging panel as the "WOW Factor Winner" - meaning, the judges deemed it the performance of the day AND wanted them to perform it AGAIN!

Our Orchestra is Superior…

The Bowie Orchestra had UIL Solo and Ensemble Competition for Orchestra last weekend. We had 17 soloists and 1 ensemble participate. Of those soloists, 12 of the soloists rated a Superior and 7 advanced to State. Our ensemble also scored a superior and advanced to state.

Culinary is Cooking…

Eight members of the Culinary Team led by senior Janelle Seay had the honor of catering a meal for the School Board at the district office. Also, Bowie Culinary has been selected as a “Showcase School” for a visit from Sam Ficchini, a member of the National Board of Directors of the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation.

Lone Star Yearbook Receives the Crown Award…

The Columbia Scholastic Press Association released the names of the recipients of the coveted 2015 Crown Awards for yearbook. For the second time in three years, the 2014-2015 Lone Star yearbook received a Crown Award. CSPA is one of the two largest professional associations for scholastic journalism in the country. These awards are big news for our yearbook. The awards will be given out at the CSPA Spring Journalism Convention in NYC during Spring Break.

Reflections Art Program…
Congratulations to Seniors Jesse Yakerson and Angela Kang for having their Reflections entries advance to State! Jesse submitted an entry in the Visual Arts category entitled "Endless Soaring" and Angela submitted a Literature work entitled "The Light Beyond the Box". Thanks to all Reflections participants for submitting such talented work! We advanced 34 on to the Area level, double the amount we received last year. We look forward to your participation next year! Stay tuned for next year's theme.
Student Council Helps the Community…
Our Student Council collected food items and packed the pod to make a donation to Capital Area Food Bank. A whopping 5,807 lbs. of food was donated by Bowie students and parents. This was the largest contribution out of 40 schools who participated in Pack the Pod to help end hunger in the Central Texas area. 
 
Culinary Cooks up a Feast…
A big thank you to Culinary 2-6 and Culinary 3-7 for providing the staff at Bowie with a lovely holiday feast. These juniors and seniors strived for perfection when they fed over 200 people. It was so fun to see their creative gingerbread houses on display.

Bowie Varsity Cheer took second place last weekend at UCA Regionals and qualified to represent Bowie in February at the National High School Championship held at Disney world. Our JV Team brought home 1st place.

Starlight Theatre Company Performs Around Austin…

A huge shout out to the Starlight Theatre Company, Ms. Cornwell, Mr. Bazan, Ms. Holloway, Mr. & Mrs. Gomez and the theatre students who visited area elementary schools. The performances were terrific and made a great impact on about 4,000 elementary aged students. This group of Bowie students spread the message of creative learning and showed how talented and dynamic our Bowie Theatre program is!

Bowie Forensics Travels to Chicago…

The Forensics team split their time this weekend, taking two small groups to Chicago to Glenbrooks Speech & Debate Tournament- the third largest national tournament in the country and also stayed local with a small group at Round Rock High School.

  • In Chicago, Katy Jacobs- 3rd place in Dramatic Interpretation (out of 112 competitors), Caleb Newton- Semi-finalist in Congressional Debate & 14th place team sweepstakes out of over 220 schools from across the nation.

  • At the Round Rock High School Qualifying Tournament, Bowie has a new state qualifier- Carter Drost in Humorous Interpretation and 3rd place for team sweepstakes. 1st place in Prose Interpretation- Jake Anderson, 2nd place in Duo Interpretation- Reed Syzdek and Kaedon Solana, 2nd place in Dramatic Interpretation-Hunter Francisco, 2nd place in Poetry Interpretation- Jake Anderson, 3rd place in Duet Acting- Grace Widner and Eli Schoolar, 3rd place in Dramatic Interpretation- Carter Drost.

Sing, Sing A Song…

At the TMEA Region 18, choir members competed in the next round of auditions that ultimately lead to the Texas All-State Choir. In order to make it past this round of cuts, 20 students in each voice part compete for 5 spots to move on to Area auditions in San Antonio, which is the final audition for the All-State Choir. The audition is rigorous and involved singing cuts from songs in English, Russian, and German, as well as sight-reading. The following students have been chosen to represent our Region at Area:

Four Cross Country State Qualifiers...

Our 4 XC State Qualifiers ran in one of the most competitive Regions in the State and are advancing to the State meet on Nov. 7th at Old Settler's park in Round Rock. Girls run at 12:10pm and the Boys race is at 12:50pm.

  • Congrats to Marissa Flournoy, Sr.; Stephen Demerson, Sr.; Carolyn Evans, Jr.; and Freshman, Claire Meyer.

  • Our Girls Varsity team missed going to State as a team by just a few points. They placed an amazing 5th out of all the top 24 teams in Region II-6A, and only the top 4 teams go to State from each Region. They placed the highest at the Regional meet than any other Girls Team from Bowie.

Eight Students Win Seat at Region 18 Auditions…

On October 10th, Region 18 held their Orchestra auditions. Bowie High School had 8 students win a seat. Varsity Girls Cross Country Team Win District Championship…

Bowie had 5 of the top 10 runners in the race and all seven of our girls were in the top 18 out of the 55 Varsity runners. Marissa Flournoy (Sr.), 2nd; Carolyn Evans (Jr.), 3rd; Claire Meyer (Fresh.), 4th; Summer Wilson (Soph), 7th; Isabel Birchard(Sr.), 9th; Janelle Seay (Sr.), 11th and Taylor Stone (Sr.), 18th.

  • Stephen Demerson (Sr.), advanced to the Regional Meet in Arlington by placing 4th at the District meet.

  • Our Varsity boys’ team placed 6th overall. Wish them luck as they travel to Arlington next Monday, Oct. 26th, to compete in the Region II Championships where the top 4 teams of the 24 will advance to the State meet on Nov. 7th along with the top 10 runners not on those 4 teams.

  • Our JV Girls were District runners up, and Bowie had the top two runners in the race. Congrats to Ellie Cemer (Fresh.), 1st and Kendall Johnson (Fresh.) 2nd. Becky Stubbs (Soph.), Morgan Zuniga (Fresh.) and Reilly Campbell (Jr.) round out the top 5 JV girls.

  • JV Boys place 4th overall with our top two runners being Tyler David (Soph.) and Lee Stone (Soph.).

  • Freshmen Boys team placed 3rd overall, and Gage Haden placed 4th and John Carroll placed 10th overall in the race.

 

Journalism Win Sweepstakes at TAJE for the Second Year…

For the second straight year, Bowie journalism students captured the Sweepstakes Award at the Texas Association of Journalism Educators Fall Convention in San Antonio last weekend! Both newspaper and yearbook staffers won 28 individual awards in a variety of categories.

21 Students Selected for Region Choirs…

Last weekend, Bowie hosted almost 600 students for the TMEA Region 18 Choir auditions. Twenty One Bowie students were chosen for the Region choirs, which is the most out of any AISD school!

The Bowie Anglers Club Members, Grady Stracener & John Forst, got Bowie's first tournament win ever at the Lake Travis Cup yesterday. They finished 1st place out of 70 tournament participants!
Bowie Forensics (Speech & Debate) on the Move at San Antonio Reagan HS…
Fourteen members of the Bowie Forensics squad traveled to San Antonio Reagan High School for our 5th tournament of the season. The team received 1st Place Squad Efficiency and 4th Place Sweepstakes. Thirteen of the 14 students made semi-finals in an event and 9 out of 14 placed in the top of their event.

Two Bowie Culinary second year students- Lina Barakat & Angel Reyes have been named winners of the Emeril & Me student contest and will be joining Chef Emeril on a Farm tour and Meet & Greet next week. 
Cross Country Wins Again...

Our Varsity girls won first again along with our JV girls at the St. Edward's Cross Country Meet this past Saturday.

Stephen Demerson won 3rd place in the boys division and Marissa Flournoy placed 1st in hers.

The Bowie Forensics Team competed at the Anderson TFA State Qualifying tournament, taking second place overall, first and third individual sweepstakes and qualified five students for the State tournament.

  • The Lone Star Dispatch staff was honored with three national awards for newspaper excellence by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association.

Girls Cross Country Takes 1st Again for the 3rd Straight Meet...
  • At the largest cross country meet in the state, the Cedar Park XC Invitational, our girls raced against 30 other teams and 232 individual runners and came out on top.  We had four of the top 20 runners in the large division.
