Bowie Blast -- Week of Oct. 21

We are proud of our Bulldogs and encourage teachers and coaches to submit news to Mr. Robinson's office!

Choir: Bowie had 30 out of 35 students who auditioned make the All-Region Choir and 27 of them will advance to the Second Round Pre-Area audition for the TMEA All-State Choirs! Bowiewas dominant in this year’s auditions with 17 Top-Ten Finishes and multiple 1st and 2nd Chair Students!!

Soprano 1: Hannah Cherukuri - 1st Chair Tennyson Tole - 3rd Chair,

Soprano 2: Cat Hill - 2nd Chair

Alto 1: Belle Sander - 2nd Chair

Alto 2: Madeline Feen - 2nd Chair Kelly Thornton - 3rd

Chair Tenor: Angel Estrada - 1st Chair.

Varsity Tennis: The team defeated Schertz Clemens HS 10 matches to 0 to claim the Bi-District championship. They also defeated Reagan in Area competition and advanced to Regionals!

The Dispatch: Two former editors were recently honored by The National Scholastic Press Association. 2018 Editor-in-Chief Violet Glenewinkel is a finalist for Writer of the Year and 2018 Managing Editor Mia Barbosa is a finalist for Newspaper Page Designer of the Year.

Orchestra: Six students earned a place in the Regional Orchestra and three earned the first alternate position.

Violin: Jonah Cadena-Perena, Karen Kim. Viola: Matthew Velasquez, Grace Gum.

Cello: Andre Plackis.

Bass: Kody Cardamone, Max Scofield, Rauno Meneses-Halmari. Piano: Yunsu Kim

Speech and Debate: Congratulations to Amy Shreeve on her 5th place finish among a field of 95 participants from four states at the Bellaire Tournament!
