Bowie Blast -- Week of May 5

We are proud of our Bulldogs and encourage teachers and coaches to submit news to Mr. Robinson's office!

Mountain Biking: The team competed in their last race of the season, capturing 1st place for this race and 1st place over ALL other high schools in the state of TEXAS for the entire season! Each and every Bulldog teammate is responsible for attaining this goal. Whether they place in the top 10 or not, they all train together and push one another each practice to support one another. Many Bulldogs did place in the top ten both this race and the overall for the series.

Varsity Girls: Alexis Bobbitt 2nd place today, tied for 1st overall

JV Girls: Emily Doucette 4th place today, 5th for overall

Freshman Girls: Clair Cox 10th place today, 10th overall

Varsity Boys: Austin Peterson 1st place today, 1st place overall Austin Buttlar 3rd place today, 7th overall Colby Pearson 4th place today, 3rd overall Logan Poore 6th place today, 5th overall Andre Kachkine 16th place today, 8th overall

JV Boys 1: Greyson Offerman 4th today, 5th overall Grant Clark 8th today, 3rd overall Ryan Wood 18th today, 7th overall

JV Boys 2: Ethan Wood 6th today, 6th overall Sophomore Boys: Angus McKenzie 5th today, 7th overall

Choir: The first annual JBHS | Choirs Classical Voice Competition had over 80 students audition. Congratulations to the following divisional finalists who will perform at the JBHS | Choirs Honor Concert on May 13th where they will all compete for the top 3 overall spots: Freshman Division: Tennyson Tole — 1st, Cordelia Bryant — 2nd, Arwen Addison & Jackson Bloder (tie) — 3rd. Sophomore Division: Chloe (Cleo) Singleton — 1st, Rachel McBurnett — 2nd, Melissa Mier— 3rd. Junior Division: Catalina Hill — 1st, Hannah Cherukuri — 2nd, Maddi Feen — 3rd. Senior Division: Belle Sander — 1st, Branden Wenzloff — 2nd, Kelly Thornton — 3rd.

Art: Five students traveled to San Marcos High school for State VASE, an art competition. Viviane Harle, Ana Mairena, and Kate Scarboro received a four on their artwork. Drew McDonald, Chance Al-Hajji, and Kate Scarboro received a three on their artwork.

Orchestra: At AISD Solo & Ensemble, Rauno Meneses-Halmari and Matthew Velasquez earned a Superior on their solos. At the end of the competition, Matthew was selected as "Best in Class" for the violas.
