Guitar: Let’s give a huge shout out to our Bowie Guitar students as they received 18 superior ratings at the UIL event last weekend! Three Bowie students will be advancing to State UIL in May! The students places as follows: Class 1 Solo's - Smith Stevens 10th grade *going to State, Benjamin Carroll 9th grade *going to State, Ethan Smith 9th grade *going to State; Class 2 Solo's - Jeremy Frey 9th grade, Aiden Christiansen 9th grade, Reese Almendarez 10th grade; Class 2 Trio - Jeremy Frey 9th grade, Kat Harper 9th grade, Ethan Smith 9th grade; Class 3 Solo's - Elissa Wechler 10th grade, Samuel Watsham 9th grade, Brandon Windle 9th grade, Ian Slack 9th grade, Julius Rivera 9th grade, Yuni Kim 10th grade, Michael Hahn 9th grade, Cole Dillard 9th grade, and Fernando Enrique Rubio 12th grade. Way to go!!
Soccer: Last week, our boys soccer teams defeated Anderson in all three games! JVB 5-0, JBA 6-0 and Varsity 3-2. Our girls soccer teams also went undefeated against Akins – Both JV teams won 9-0 and Varsity won 5-0. Way to go undefeated, DAWGS!!
English & Creative Writing: The Bowie magazine, Odyssey, was selected to receive the rank of Superior in the 2019 NCTE Recognizing Excellence in Art and Literary Magazines (REALM) Program. Last year, they were rated as Excellent, so this is a huge accomplishment in the higher ranking. Great job!!
