Liz Wissel Named All- Central Texas Team Softball Coach of the Year
Over the summer, Liz Wissel, was named the 2017 All-Central Texas Team Coach of the Year! Kudos to Liz for her tenacity, her dedication, her coaching skills, and her big heart. It is wonderful to know that others in the Austin community and the softball world have recognized Coach Wissel for her excellent work with our softball team.
Other honors went to players of the 2016-2017 Bowie Varsity Softball Team: Alex McClennan, Senior- Named as the Most Valuable Pitcher in our District 14-6A. She will be studying at St. Mary's this year and playing softball. Other First Team designees were Meagan Ramos, Jackie Ramos, Sarah Williamson, and Tiffany Licon. Bowie Alumnus and NFL Safety Michael Griffin Gives Back
Former Bowie football player, Michael Griffin '03, graciously donated new uniforms to the varsity football team this season. Mr. Griffin is an All Pro Defensive Back and continued his playing career with The University of Texas at Austin and the NFL.
