Bowie Student Rides for Team USA… Alexis Bobbitt has been selected to compete for the USA Junior National Mountain Bike Racing Team in Mont Tremblant, QC, Canada. She will compete wearing the Stars and Stripes, representing Team USA along with the top athletes in our Country. Bowie Blast -- Week of May 14
Student Newspaper Wins Awards for the Year… The Dispatch won state awards from the UIL/ILPC. For the third straight year the staff was awarded The Bronze Star for newspaper excellence from UIL/ILPC. There were just 13 schools in the state awarded stars this year and we were one of them. Bowie staff had an outstanding showing individually, with 43 total awards, 30 for the print edition and 13 for our online product. The staff deserves to brag, winning seven national staff awar

AISD Orchestra Solo and Ensemble Results… Bowie had 14 students participate in the Austin Independent School District (AISD) Solo and Ensemble Competition. Texas Young Masters Award Goes to Bowie Guitar Student… Lief Tilton was awarded The Texas Young Masters Award for 2018. Texas Young Masters is a major award given by the Texas Commission on the Arts and the Texas Cultural trust every two years for a select group of 8-11 grade students in all arts disciplines including literature and visual arts, music dance and theater. At this time the award is $10,000 - $5,000 per summer for two summers to fund summer arts study. Leif will
