Bowie Blast - Week of Jan 16

Choir: Six Bowie Choir students competed in the TMEA Area E Choir Auditions in San Antonio. Congratulations to the two vocalists selected for the 2022 TMEA All-State Choir: Ashira Fronk (Sophomore) - 4th Chair, Alto 1 (Treble Choir) Finn Alexander (Sophomore) - 4th Chair, Bass 2 (Tenor-Bass Choir) This is the first time the Bowie choir has had an All-Stater in 3 years, our first year with multiple All-Staters in over a decade, and the first male All-Stater we have had in recent memory! Speech and Debate: Members of the Speech and Debate team competed at the Winston Churchill High School TFA, TOC, and NIETOC qualifier. This is a big precursor for the state tournament, with national-level competitors competing for top honors. Our team did exceptionally well this year, with some individual recognition: Olivia Baird-3rd place in Novice Lincoln-Douglas Debate Javier Lozano- 6th place in Dramatic Interpretation Josh Nielsen-semi-finalist (top 12) in Humorous Interpretation Morgan Gonzalez- semi-finalist in Congressional Debate We also had a handful of students compete at a virtual tournament at Coppel High School. Congratulations to Megan Sewell who placed 3rd in Humorous Interpretation.
