The Sounds of the Orchestra…
Region 18 Orchestra performed at the Full Orchestra Auditions at Anderson HS. This was a blind audition where students were grouped by instrument, and played excerpts that they have been working on since August. Congratulations to Sara Brown, Thea Kilbane- 1st in the Room, Aaron Owens, Cedar Spiece and Lilian Vo for making the Region Orchestra and/or advancing to the Area Contest in January.
Bowie Speech & Debate Team Dominates…
A small group of 11 students from the Bowie Speech and Debate team attended the Cedar Ridge TFA State Qualifying tournament. The team dominated several events and represented Bowie well. Individual results included: 1st place in Duet Acting: Luke Evans & Kaedon Solana (New State Qualifier), 1st place in Dramatic Interpretation: Luke Evans, 1st place in Humorous Interpretation: Luke Evans (New State Qualifier), 2nd place in Humorous Interpretation: Kaedon Solana, 3rd place in Duo Interpretation: Luke Evans & Kaedon Solana, 4th place in Congressional Debate: Brianna Rodriguez, 5th place in Original Oratory: Amy Shreeve, 5th place in Program Oral Interpretation: Grace Widner, 6th place in Duo Interpretation: Sofia Hutton & Grace Widner, 6th place in Congressional Debate: Amy Shreeve.
Bowie Student Places 2nd with Essay Contest…
Cody Kardamone placed 2nd at the post level for VFW Voice of Democracy Essay Contest.
JBHS Choir Has Reason to Celebrate…
Our Choir had a late night at Anderson HS for the Second Round of the TMEA All-State Choir Auditions. We had 15 students compete and 6 of the qualified will move on to the final round of auditions at Reagan High School in San Antonio on January 13th. Congratulations to all the students who auditioned and worked hard to get there.
