Bowie Blast -- Week of Jan. 12

We are proud of our Bulldogs and encourage teachers and coaches to submit news to Mr. Robinson's office!

Yearbook: The PTSA is thrilled to report that the 2019 Lone Star yearbook, Reverie, was selected as a Pacemaker finalist, one of only 50 high school yearbooks in the country to be recognized! This award is called the Pulitzer Prize of scholastic journalism. Great job and congrats!!

AFJROTC CyberPatriot Team: The Bowie AFJROTC CyberPatriot Team competed in the State Qualification Round on December 6th. The team advanced through the state round to the national semi-final round to be held on January 24th. If the team advances through the semi-final round, they will be rewarded with an all-expense paid trip at stake to the CyberPatriot XII finals to be held in Bethesda, Maryland in March. Team Members included: Cadet Reuben Beckman, Cadet Daniel Cardenas, Cadet Ethyn Jester, Cadet Caden Laird, Cadet Max Muzny, and Cadet Lianna Tidwell. Congratulations on a job well done and good luck!

Boys Basketball: Over the holidays, the team went 4-4. The Bowie Boys team is now 3-2 in district play and 17 and 5 overall. Way to go DAWGS!

Girls Basketball: The Lady Dawgs also played over the holiday break and the team is now 6-1 in district play. Great job, Lady DAWGS!

Girls Softball: Congratulations to the Lady Dawgs on their successful weekend at the Round Rock softball Invitational Tournament last weekend. They went undefeated and took 1st place. Way to represent Bowie Softball!

Boys Soccer: The team played Stony Point this week with the following team scores: JVB 3-0 Win, JVA 3-1 Win, Varsity 0-0. Keep up the great season!

Speech & Debate: Last weekend, members of the Speech and Debate team competed at the Round Rock Swing State Qualifying tournament. The PTSA is proud to announce the following new state qualifiers: Elliot Crunk in Informative Speaking, Nick Van Lente in Foreign Extemporaneous Speaking, Riley McCue and Haley Pousson in Duet Acting, Nadia Petru and Kellan Watts in Duo Interpretation, and Nick Van Lente in Congressional Debate.
