We are proud of our Bulldogs and encourage teachers and coaches to submit news to Mr. Robinson's office!

Below are updates for the last two weeks before Spring Break!  Great job to all of our Bowie Bulldogs!!  We are so proud of all of our talented, strong and committed students!

Bowie Boys Soccer: All three soccer teams defeated Akins: JVB 4-0, JVA 1-0 and Varsity 4-0. Over the weekend of 3/7 the team played Austin High with JVB winning 1-0, JVA 6-0 and Varsity losing in a close game 1-2.  During the week before Spring Break, the teams played Lehman with the following results: JVB 1-0, JVA 1-0 and Varsity 1-3. Go Dawgs!!!

Bowie Colorguard / Winterguard: Bowie Guard won the WGI Austin Regional on March 1 in a two-day competition at Rouse High School in Leander. Its 2020 winterguard show is titled TECHNICOLOR PACHYDERMS. From trumpet-playing trunks, to bubble elephants, Bowie World Guard uses musical inspiration from the original Disney film DUMBO (Pink Elephant sequence) and mix of Britney Spears, Madonna, John Cage and a little peek from the Wizard of Oz.

Battle of the Books: Bowie students participated in the second annual Battle of the Books at McCallum High School.  They competed against 11 teams from AISD and Pflugerville on Friday, March 6th. Bowie took 4th place!  Students read the chosen books and competed in three rounds (1 round- Kahoot, 2nd round short answer, 3rd round Jeopardy).   Way to go Bulldogs!!

Bowie Business Professionals of America: THE BOWIE BUSINESS PROFESSIONALS OF AMERICA traveled to Dallas last week to attend the BPA State competition and leadership conference. Out of four competitors, Bowie had 2 who beat out over 50 other competitors and earned a spot to represent our state in the Nationals Conference.  Senior Talia Hanley finished strong with a 4th place award in Payroll Accounting and Junior Cole Harrison earned an impressive 2nd place win in Banking & Finance.  These two will travel to Washington DC to represent the state of Texas and Bowie High School. Congratulations to you both!

Bowie Girls Soccer: The girls soccer teams all had victories on Friday, March 6th.  The Freshmen team beat Hays Johnson 5-0. The JV team beat Lehman 8-0, and the Varsity beat Lehman 2-1 with awesome goals scored by Addie Lemoine and Megan Devaney.  The teams finished up their season Westlake the week before Spring Break. All team members represented Bowie this season with a strong work ethic and class.  Senior Megan Devaney finished up her season by tacking in two more goals, but the team still came up short to Westlake.  Great season, Lady Dawgs!

Bowie Baseball: The Bulldogs beat Del Valle 10-0! John Estrada had two hits while McKade Hendley and Tyler Thomason both drove in two runs. Jonathan Eastin pitched five innings allowing only two hits and struck out eight!  Our varsity baseball team played in the AISD tournament as well, winning four games and losing two. Two of our players were selected to the ALL-Tournament Team: Thanio Bright and Brody Miller.   The team had a showing against some good competition in the AISD tournament. On March 9th, the Varsity team got a big district win! Down 3 -0 in their final at bat, the DAWGS scored four unanswered runs capped by a walk-off single by Aidan Warren.  Bowie played solid defense and had a strong pitching performance by Johnathan Eastin who threw 6 and 2/3 innings of no-hit baseball. Great TEAM WIN!!! GO DAWGS!!!

Bowie Girls Track: Congratulations to the Varsity and JV girls track teams!!  They finished in 2nd place at the Bastrop Relays last weekend.  Varsity 1st place finishers were Anna Miletich in the high jump, Morgan Kos in the 3200 run, and Paige Oldham in the 800 run.  Great job, ladies!!
