Bowie Blast -- Week of March 24

We are proud of our Bulldogs and encourage teachers and coaches to submit news to Mr. Robinson's office!

​UIL Choir: ​All three Junior Varsity choirs received a First Division in Concert and in Sight-reading earning them the coveted Sweepstakes Award. The Silver Sound Ensemble competed at the American Classic Madrigal and Chamber Choir Competition in Dallas, TX. They received a STRAIGHT ONES Superior Rating and additionally were awarded the prestigious “Performance of Distinction Award” by the judges for the first time ever!

Girls Soccer: The girls soccer teams finished out their district play. The Freshmen tied 1-1, JV lost 0-1, and Varsity lost 0-2 against Westlake. The Varsity season will continue after Spring Break as they begin their run in playoffs.

One Act Play: The cast and crew of the UIL one act play Angels In America: Millenium Approaches won big at the 25 6A District contest, advancing to the Bi-District Contest in San Antonio. Individual awards included Luke Evans - All Star Cast, Eric Larson - Honorable Mention- All Star Cast, and Alyssa Shumaker - Outstanding Technician.

Track: The boys and girls track teams competed at the McNeil Relays. On the girls side, Claire Meyer finished 1st in the 3200 meter run and 2nd in the 1600 meter run. Alyssa Magallanez got 1st place in the high jump clearing 5'4". Other standouts were Brooke Wilkerson, Chynell Mitchell, Jenni Cootes, Jayla Gaines, & Ashley Salas. The Boys team also competed well against stiff competition with a 3rd place finish in the Varsity division and 2nd place finish in the freshmen division. Ethan Dougherty had a great jump and new personal record in the high jump with a clearance of 6'8". Kaleb Higgins finished second in the High Jump and Josh McCormick finished 2nd in the triple jump. Peyton Ludeman and Evan Janowitz swept the pole vault and Seth Werchen ran well in the 110 hurdles.
