Girls Soccer: Our Bowie Girls Soccer teams had another amazing week! On Friday, February 21st, the JV team won 5-0, and the Varsity team won 1-0 with Lauren Spencer showing excellent goalkeeper skills to keep the shut out! On Tuesday, the 25th, the freshmen soccer team lost to Hays Johnson, but the JV beat Ann Richards 7-0 and Varsity beat Ann Richards 3-0. Great job, ladies!
Boys Soccer: Last Wednesday, all three soccer teams beat Anderson: JVB 2-0, JVA 6-0 and Varsity 1-0. Go Dawgs!!!
Bowie Robotics: The Bowie Botdawgs Robotics teams placed in the top 10 at last weekend’s Tower Takeover competition at Mc Callum HS. Out of 30 teams, the Piston Pups placed 5th place overall and Team Monarch placed 7th overall. Way to go Botdawgs!
Girls Softball: Last weekend, our Lady Dawgs went 3 and 1. Senior Addie Lemione had a clutch 2 RBI hit, Kaycie Arocha also had 2 RBI’s in that same game. Cat Esteves hit a homerun to tie the game and send the game into extra innings. Emma Solis executed a perfect squeeze to score the tying run and Cassidy McLean had a walk off single to win the game. Against Del Valle, the team went to 11 innings. Cat Esteves was amazing on the mound! Cassidy McLean had a single homerun and Addison Lusk ended with a clutch hit in the bottom of the 11th. The team won 7-6!! Incredible games, ladies!!
Lacrosse: Congratulations to the Lady Dawgs Lacrosse teams! They swept Vandegrift on Saturday, the 22nd. JV won 12-1 and Varsity 13-10 in a great team victory. They also beat St. Andrews last week!
Wrestling: The Bowie wrestling team competed in Houston last weekend at the UIL State Wrestling Tournament. The following wrestlers did an amazing job and represented Bowie with class - Jireh Vivar, Olivia Moreno, Joshua Moreno, and Tye Frnka. We are so proud of your efforts and look forward to an even more successful future! GO DAWGS!
AFJROTC: The Bowie AFJROTC Rocketry Team competed last weekend at a rocketry meet at Del Valle High School. The team won the following awards:
1st Place - 70-yard Streamer Landing
2nd Place - Parachute Duration
3rd Place - Streamer Duration
3rd Place - 70-yard Parachute Landing
Those individual wins help lift the team to an "Overall 3rd Place" team finish for the event. Team Members: Cadet Bobbie Beckmann and Cadet Kylie Perry
Silver Stars & JV Star Dancers Dance Teams: Last weekend, the Silver Stars and JV Star Dancers competed at Hendrickson High School at the Crowd Pleasers Austin Showcase and had a very successful first contest!
