Teacher Accomplishments

Big congratulations out to our wonderful Science teacher Jessica Davis! Jessica is the recipient of the 2020 Phi Beta Kappa Alumni Association of Greater Austin Teaching Excellence Award. Jessica received $2,500 for herself and Bowie received $500 to be used as Jessica chooses. Thank you, Jessica, for all you do for your students and your contributions to the Bowie community!

Volleyball

Bowie defeated Hays High School 3-2.

Speech and Debate

Members of the speech and debate team competed at the Westlake virtual TFA State and NIETOC qualifier. New TFA State Qualifiers: Alyssa Shumaker and Kaia Pierce in Duo Interpretation and Javier Lozano and Gabriel Watts in Duo Interpretation. New Qualifiers for National Individual Events Tournament of Champions (NIETOC): Aidan Garcia and Tristan Rath in Duo Interpretation.

Results for Westlake TFA State and NIETOC Qualifier: 1st place in Duo Interpretation- Aidan Garcia and Tristan Rath, 2nd place in Duo Interpretation- Kaia Pierce and Alyssa Shumaker, 2nd place Top Speaker in Public Forum Debate- Kathryn Thomason, 4th place in Duo Interpretation- Nadia Petru and Megan Sewell, Top 4 (Semi-finalists) in Public Forum Debate- Kathryn Thomason & Caroline Rasmussen, 5th place in Program Oral Interpretation- Erin Everette, 5th place in Duo Interpretation- Javier Lozano and Gabriel Watts and 6th place in Dramatic Interpretation- Alyssa Shumaker.

Additionally, some debaters competed in the Bellaire virtual TFA State Qualifier. Results include: 8th place In Congressional Debate- Nick Van Lente.

Football

Bowie played Austin High and won both Freshman and JV games. Scores were Bowie Freshmen 46- Austin 14 and Bowie JV 47- Austin 14.

Tennis

Bowie Varsity Tennis defeated #24 state ranked Round Rock High School 10 matches to 2.

Volleyball

Bowie defeated Hays High School 3-2.
