Poetry Out Loud: Congratulations to the winners of the poetry out loud competition! Chris Thompson in 3rd place, Anna Demopolis in second place, and Liana Chen in first place and headed to state next month!

Yearbook: The Texas Association of Journalism Educators' announced their Best in Texas individual awards for Yearbook. The following students were selected out of almost 700 total entries for their work in last year's book: Preston Rolls: Superior in Photo Portfolio (top two in the state), Excellent in Student Life Photo and Honorable Mention in Human Interest Photo Sophie Bega: Superior in Academics Photo (top two in the state) Carly Vale, Peyton Barry, Jizelle Jimenez: Excellent in Sports Spread for their Boys Track spread Rachel Baschnagal, Jocelyn Brooks, Claire Meyer: Honorable Mention in Student-Designed Endsheets Keely Briggs, Amelie Hayne, Taylor Snyder: Honorable Mention in Academics Spread for their Ready Set Teach spread Lila Vale & Emma Ivie: Honorable Mention in Multi-topic spread for their Academic Discoveries spread.

The Dispatch: The National Scholastic Press Association named http://thedispatchonline.net as a Pacemaker Finalist. This is the first nomination for the online site and comes on the heels of the print edition's first Pacemaker in over 20 years announced in Chicago earlier this year.

Wrestling: Congratulations to our wrestlers that competed at the CenTex invitational. Placing 3rd in their weight classes for the boys team were Vincent Villanueva and Cory Silguero. Placing 4th was Jaime Silva and Eric Engberg. On the girls team, Zyah Cajuste placed 4th, and the girls tournament champion at 102 pounds was senior Aylen Vivar. Great job Dawgs!
